PowerStream claims to have a self-generating (fuelless) power system called the Magnetron, which on April 13 they said was "first of its kind to market", advertising output capabilities between 5KW and 2 MW. The load-following device is designed to be the primary and sole source of energy for the myriad of applications, from home to business to transportation power.
They are not yet delivering product but say they are close, being "about to go into testing," having been delayed. A press release is expected any day. They said they would consider doing an interview with us at that time.
The Magnetron allegedly uses a series of batteries to kick start the generation system. Once the system is started, the batteries are automatically toggled off and trickle charged. The online system uses the magnetic fields of the armature to drive the DC motor which has been altered with a patented process to enable the motor to draw between 1-2 amps, while delivering the torque necessary to drive the attached generator. At the same time, the system typically draws less than 2% of the energy required to keep the generator spinning.
One of their promotional videos says the steady state generator is load sensitive. Without a load, it idles. When a load is applied, the generator senses it and delivers the energy needed.
The installation is said to be relatively simple and quick.

In the Dutch language 'magnetron' is the word used for a microwave..
And that seems to be the most useful thing I can say about this :)
2amps X 24volts = 48 watts
It is impossible to drive a 5000watts generator The power is to small to get 5000watts from it
The name PowerStream Technology is a trademark of Lund Instrument Engineering, Inc. We design and sell power supplies, batteries, and DC converters. We have nothing to do with this project, which has illegally appropriated our name.
This looks like the most popular perpetual motion machine, a generator driving a motor driving the generator. The inventors make the mistake of assuming that voltage is power and think that if the can boost the voltage just a little bit then they can get more than 100% efficiency. This can go on for years.
COP of 104 seems to much, I can get to COP 1.4 on a test rig
best that I could see would be COP 20
I called the number given in the article, and left a message that I was ready to buy. I also left a return number. No call back. ?????!!!
This is clearly a scam. One engineering company that purports to endorse this fake system is a facade at a private home. Unfortunately several power companies and municipalities are intending to sign long term supply contracts. What is the point of it? There are many named engineers associated with this perpetual motion project and they must know it will not work. Perhaps the scam is to sell on the contracts once they have been obtained. It is clearly designed to make money rather than power. It is a great shame that people who could be doing good engineering work decide to take the dishonest route and by doing so bring skepticism on those that are genuine.

Why does a site like the examiner write about obvious scams like the magnetic generator? I stumbled on this site here http://magneticgeneratordiy.com/ did some research and found out it is a scam. Took me like 30 minutes.
People, please don't fall for this, magnetic generators do not create free energy.
