The Powerball jackpot winning numbers are nearing the $200 million mark! Tonight's winning Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $169 million, or a $96.1 million onetime payout.
Once again no one matched all six numbers in last Saturday’s drawing, but $12 million was paid out in winnings, including two one million dollar winners, along with two other lucky winners cashing in tickets worth two million each.
Now that’s the way to end a work week.
The one million dollar winning tickets were sold in Minnesota and New Jersey while the two million dollar winning tickets were purchased in Montana and Texas.
In case you missed the winning numbers in the last drawing they were 2, 7, 25, 40, 56 and the Powerball was 20.
Here in Michigan, according to a Sept. 4 update, three lucky winners collected the $10,000 prize by matching 4 white balls and the Powerball. One player won $40,000 as they matched the same combination (four white balls and the Powerball) but added the Powerplay feature, which netted them $40,000 instead of the original $10,000. Not a bad increase for a buck!
The Powerball website reports that 'Power Play' is a special feature that allows a winner to increase the original prize amount by adding an extra dollar to your original bet. So instead of playing the regular $2 bet per line, you have a chance to add the Powerplay feature for a dollar more, which could increase your winnings a ton!
You can check back here shortly after 11:00 p.m. ET to check out tonight's winning numbers. The winning numbers will be posted in the comments section below. If you have never played the Powerball before and want to know how it works, you can click here for all the information.
