Congratulations to the latest Powerball jackpot winner from Virginia! The Powerball winning numbers for Feb. 6, 2013, were drawn at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday's Powerball results are 5, 27, 36, 38, 41, and the red Powerball number is 12, according to the Powerball.com website.
The jackpot amount was originally set at $208 million, but increased as the night wore on until it reached a whopping $217.2 million annuity, or about $135 million in cash.
There was also one Match 5 + 0 Power Play winner for last night's drawing. A Rhode Island Powerball winner matched five out of six Powerball winning numbers, but not the red Powerball number for what is normally a $1 million prize. Fortunately, the Rhode Island lottery winner purchased a Power Play ticket for an extra dollar which doubled the prize winnings to $2 million.
Six additional second-tier Powerball winners also matched five out of six white Powerball numbers for $1 million each. Sadly, they didn't buy Power Play tickets and will be receiving checks for only $1 million. The tickets were sold in Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, and two tickets in New York for the Wednesday, Feb. 6 drawing.
When is the Next Powerball Drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 10:59 p.m. EST. Since there there was one Virginia Powerball winner announced, the next Powerball jackpot will be reset to a minimum of $40 million. Powerball winning numbers are drawn live Wednesday and Saturday evenings, and is played in 42 States, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
Latest Mega Millions Results
The latest Mega Millions winning numbers for the Feb. 5, 2013 drawing, were 2, 5, 10, 26, 44, the Mega Ball number was 46, and the Megaplier number was X 4. There was one Mega Millions jackpot winner for this drawing. The $19 million winning ticket was sold by the Michigan Lottery. The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8 at 11 p.m.
