Did anyone win the Powerball jackpot? You bet they did! Two lottery winners from Massachusetts and Nebraska matched all six Powerball winning numbers on Dec. 11, 2013, and will split the massive $122.9 million jackpot. The Powerball winning numbers are 1, 10, 13, 18, 19, and the red Powerball number is 27. According to Boston.com on Dec. 12, the Massachusetts Powerball lottery winner purchased the lucky ticket at Appletown Market on Main Street in Sterling. The Nebraska Powerball winner bought their winning lottery ticket at Speedee Mart in Gretna, reported Omaha.com.

Unfortunately, the Massachusetts and Nebraska Powerball jackpot winners have to split the huge $122.9 million jackpot, which ends up being about $61.5 million each if they take the annuity option paid out in 30 annual payments. If they want all their money paid up front in cash, they'll have to settle for about $33.9 million. However, both payment options are before Uncle Sam takes his portion out for state and federal taxes.

Powerball Results and Winners

In addition to the Massachusetts and Nebraska Powerball jackpot winners, 595,419 lottery winners matched the correct Powerball winning numbers to win prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million in the Dec. 11 drawing.

There were seven (7) Match 5 + 0 Powerball winners that won $1 million each. The lottery winners purchased their Powerball winning tickets from the California, Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Maine, and New York lottery commissions. Had they spent an extra dollar on the Power Play option, their prize winnings winnings would have instantly doubled from $1 million to $2 million.

Additionally, there were fifty-six (56) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each in Wednesday's drawing. Ten (10) of those Powerball winners bought the Power Play option for an extra dollar, which instantly increased their prize amount to $40,000. Each winner matched four out of five Powerball winning numbers, AND the red Powerball number for the third-tier prize.
