The Powerball lottery is being closely followed across the US. A lot of folks are asking this morning, what were the winning numbers? Where was the winning ticket sold? What was the jackpot?

Here's the scoop.

Winning Powerball numbers:

In the Powerball drawing announced on 2/6/13, here are the winning numbers: 5, 27, 36, 38 and 41, with a Powerball of 12.

Where was the winning Powerball ticket purchased?

Richmond, Virginia. So far, no word on which store or other outlet sold the winning ticket.

What was the Powerball jackpot?

The Powball jackpot was $217.2 million.

What will Saturday's Powerball jackpot be?

The jackpot will reset to $40 million, or $25.1 million cash.

How much will last night's Powerball winner take home in cash?

Of the more than 70 Powerball winners, all have opted to take cash rather than an annuity. If the Virginia winner opted for an annuity, he/she would get the full $217.2 million prize money over time. But the cash amount would be $136.4 million

So congratulations to the Powerball winner or winners. We don't know if the winning ticket was bought by a group or an individual. Once again, the winning numbers of the Powerball that was announced last night, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 is: 5, 27, 36, 38 and 41, with a Powerball of 12.
