Meanwhile, New Jersey Lottery’s Executive Director Carole Hedinger announced on Monday, Dec. 23, that there was another big lottery winner in the last Powerball drawing. One New Jersey Powerball winner matched four out of five white Powerball winning numbers, AND the red Powerball number for the third-tier prize of $10,000. Had the New Jersey lottery winner spent an extra dollar on the Power Play option, the prize amount would have been automatically increased to $40,000 instead! Better luck next time!

The New Jersey winning Powerball ticket was purchased in Bergen County at Quick Shop, 48 Paterson St., Hillsdale for the Dec. 21 drawing. Additionally, 19,760 other New Jersey lottery winners took home an estimated $109,070 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200. Carole Hedinger commented,

"Congratulations to this fortunate lottery player who purchased the winning ticket and to the retailer that sold it. For selling this winning ticket, the retailer has become one more of the Lottery’s ‘lucky locations’ overnight."

What Time is the Powerball Drawing?

According to Florida Lottery officials, the next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Dec. 25, 2013 at 10:59 p.m. EST. The Powerball winning numbers are drawn live Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10:59 p.m. EDT in Florida. The Powerball game is played in 43 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each, and another $1 for the Power Play option which could instantly multiply your prize winnings.
