Powerball jackpot zoomed to $194 million. Nobody won the grand prize this time. According to WebProNews on Jan. 30, even though the grand prize had no takers, other winners did well.

Not everyone walked away empty handed, as winnings for the last drawing totaled roughly $8.66 million. There were 592,462 winners in all.

Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday's draw were 11, 23, 28, 32, and 47, plus the Powerball number was 20 with a Power Play of 2. A winner in the next draw can take home a cash option worth $110.7 million before taxes are taken out. A big plus for California players is that only federal taxes need to be paid on their winnings.

As reported in a recent Powerball article by this author, "Powerball up to $152 million with the return of the Power Play," the Power Play multiplier is back with a vengeance. What does that mean for lottery players? If you pay an extra dollar per play at the time of purchase many of the lesser prizes will payout 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x normal.
