Once again no ticket holder won the Powerball jackpot for the March 16 drawing of $216 million. Saturday night's numbers drawn were 3-7-21-44-53 with a Powerball of 16. According to NJ.com Sunday, the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is now at $260 million with a cash option of $161.5 million for the winning ticket.
There was $28.5 million in winners who matched several of the numbers. Those who matched all five numbers in Saturday's drawing, but not the Powerball number were in New Jersey, New York, Washington D.C., Arizona, Georgia, Illionis, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. They were worth $1 million each. Powerplay winners who won $2 million were sold in Illinois and Colorado.
Powerball starts at $40 million and grows until someone wins the jackpot. With the prize money going up after each drawing, more tickets are purchased with the hopes players will have a shot at becoming instant millionaires.
Will someone win the $260 million jackpot in Wednesday's drawing?
The next drawing is at 10:59 p.m., ET on March 20. For Powerball players in Portland, Ore. and along the West Coast, time of the drawing is at 7:59 p.m., PT.
