The Power Premiere is a swank, star-studded cocktail mix and mingle event honoring the ten most amazing gay women and ten most amazing gay men in showbiz. Each year POWER UP (Professional Organization of Women Reaching Up) honors these LGBT men and women for their contributions to entertainment and the community.
This years honorees are: Katherine Brooks, Dan Bucatinsky, Jessica Clark, Brickson Diamond, Lesley Goldberg, Oliver Goldstick, Alex Goldstone, Sunny Hodge, Kevin Iwashina, Laura Karpman, Michelle Knudsen, David Levine, Donald Martin, Denise Pleune, Tracy Ryerson, Patty Schemel, Haviland Stillwell, Blair Taylor and Kirkland Tibbels.
Conceived in October 2000 with the mission to “promote the visibility and integration of gay women in entertainment, arts and all forms of media,” POWER UP is the only 501(c)(3) Non-Profit film production company and educational organization for women and the GLBTQ community that develops, finances, produces and distributes award winning films; conducts tremendously successful educational programs through our hands-on filmmaking mentorships, classes, workshops and seminars; provides career, script, television and film counseling; publishes a magazine; Awards notable contributors to the arts, entertainment and our community; bolsters the community; and unifies and validates GLBTQ persons all around the world via their films.
The annual Power Premiere Gala is POWER UP’s only fundraising event. Proceeds raised will support all of POWER UP’s 2012 educational programs, films and events.
The 2011 Annual Power Premiere Gala will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Eden in Hollywood.
