Power Tool Championships and Makers Fair at the Columbus Idea Foundry

This Saturday, August 20th, the Columbus Idea Foundry will be bustling with action. They are holding their annual Tool Racing Championships as well as playing host to the Makers Fair. There will be live performaces, art on display, lots of vendors and yummy snacks. Tours of the facility will also be given.

Art Party Columbus will have a booth as well as many of its members particapating at their own booths, including, BigStyle Productions, Fear and Clothing 76, Ryan Lear, Siftus, Tona Pearson and Meaghann Lees, to name a few. Other vendors include Lindsay Hearts, What the Rock?!, and Lady Creepshow Couture. The featured art, both on display and for sale, will include such local artists as Jay Mueller, Alisa Courtney, and Andrew Maniskas. Performances from Lemia Belus and Drunk on Horseback will add to the festivities.

The race itself is sponsored by Ohio Power Tool, Bosch, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Toolguyd and many, many more. Prizes for the winners include prize packages from Ohio Power Tools and Bosch worth over $2500! Prizes go to the winners of the catagories of Overall Champion and Most Creative Design. There are other catagories as well and all racers recieve gift bags for participating.

The event runs from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Columbus Idea Foundry, 1158 Corrugated Way. There will also be food vendors, including Jeni's Ice Cream and a Bar. This is a cash only event (with no atm on site). Entry is free but a donation is recommended.
