According to Google, endurance means, “The fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.” I’m wondering, as you read this article, how much of this power do you believe you hold?
Are you giving yourself any credit right now? If not, come on, it is time to jump on this bandwagon. Have you not suffered? Are you not still here enduring? Think of all you’ve been through and now as you breathe in this very moment, know you have survived. Regardless of what you are going through today, you have survived yesterday. This is a fact. And, for this you must find a way to be grateful. Why, because ultimately, without an appreciation for this life you are living, you will never fully overcome. Use your remarkable story as a testament of your strength. Remember this attribute about yourself, you are robust, maybe even a bit superhuman depending on how much you’ve endured. Only you know the unique experience of you, please, do not underestimate your resilience.
I will leave you with the words of William Barclay. He once said, “Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory.”
