So many smoothies are made with daily products such as milk or ice cream which can be difficult for some to digest if they are lactose intolerant. Here is a recipe that is strictly made of fruit that is naturally sweet, full-bodied and quiet nutritious. The papaya gives this drink its bright coral coloring and lots of nutrients. The banana provides potassium while the juices bring vitamin C to the table with a citrus tang blended in for a refreshing twist.
- ¾ cup of pineapple juice
- ¾ cup of orange juice
- 2 cups of diced papaya
- ½ of a medium banana cut into chunks
- 12 large ice cubes
- Place all ingredients into the blender and pulse until the ice and fruit chunks render down.
- Then set to puree and blend until all is smooth.
- Pour into glasses and serve while cold.
- If your smoothie isn’t sweet enough for you add a little honey to your glass ¼ teaspoon at a time until it is just right.
