Louis Zamperini spent time in an agonizing prison camp being tortured by the Japanese as a WWII POW. He’s also a well known Olympian runner and famous for his personal testimony, being saved at a crusade event by Billy Graham.
He has now devoted his life to preaching and sharing Gods’ word with other people so they can too come to know of Christ love for each of us, the redemption he gives us, and God’s magnificent grace. Zamperini is now in his 90’s and was born of an Italian immigrant. Previously he steered his life to continually spiral downhill by being an alcoholic. Deep seated anger seemed to direct his path of destruction. Today he is a dedicated christian and lives a renewed life.
Zamperini has a biography out “Unbroken” published through Laura Hillenbrand who also published “Seabiscuit”. Angelina Jolie, inspiring to further her career into directing has chosen Mr. Louis Zamperini’s story “Unbroken” to direct. Filming is currently underway in Australia and the release date is set for December 2014.
It’s comforting to see the movie industry focusing on movies that bring glory to God and let’s pray we see more in the future.
