In a rather bizarre marketing move, Nintendo teamed up with Pottery Barn yesterday to give fans a chance to play Super Mario 3D World before the game officially releases later this month. Gamers will also have a chance to win various prizes, including a brand new Wii U Deluxe system.
Unfortunately, only 13 stores will be participating in this event. The full list of locations can be found on the 'Pottery Barn Teens' website, and includes stores in California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina and Ohio. Most stores will be taking part in this event from November 4th until Sunday the 24th.
The idea that Nintendo would hold such a promotion at Pottery Barn is a bit puzzling, especially when one takes into account their E3 deal from a few months ago. Sticking with Best Buy, an electronics store, or moving over to GameStop would seem like more sensible options. Regardless, this promotion may be well worth the extra trip to the store.
