Potential 'CSI' spinoff that focuses on cyber crimes coming to CBS

CBS announced this afternoon, Feb, 18, that they have a 'CSI' spinoff in the works for fall. The spinoff will center around a cyber crime unit that will focus on Avery Ryan who is the Special Agent in Charge at the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI in Quantico, VA.

The stories are going to center on what the criminal creates in the mind and then puts into action online but the crimes happen in real life.

The story is inspired by the real life producer of "CSI", Mary Aiken who is a cyber psychologist as well.

Fans will get a glimpse of the show as it is introduced as a back door pilot in this spring's episode Original Flavor.

It looks like the success of CBS' "NCIS" spinoffs and previous "CSI" spinoffs has CBS still banking on their veteran police procedural shows to keep it as the number one most watched station among the big three.

There is no word as to who will star in the show or what night it will come on. They are waiting to see how the pilot does before it is made official.

So, what do you think about the spinoff? Are we ready for more and a different "CSI"?
