Potential changes in store for feud between Swagger and Alberto Del Rio

It appears that the WWE is considering major changes to the storyline between Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio. Although Vince McMahon is a huge fan of Swagger and his manager Zeb Colter, the feeling backstage is that the storyline is not getting over on television according to a March 11 report by FW4Online.com.

The feud was designed to cement Del Rio as a face. However, the WWE brass feels that the angle is falling short of expectations. There's a chance that the angle could be scrapped after WrestleMania 29 and not continued into the May PPV Extreme Rules, which was reported roughly one week ago.

The WWE desperately wants Alberto Del Rio to be a major star within the company, especially because of his Hispanic appeal. However, they are struggling to get him over as a major face, which could be partly due to the angle he's involved in with Swagger. The fans seem to be cheering for Del Rio, but not to the extent that the WWE wants. Del Rio spent his the last few years as a heel, but there were ongoing reports that the WWE didn't think he was aggressive enough.
