The poster for Good Deeds the upcoming romance drama starring Tyler Perry, Thandie Newton, Gabrielle Union, Phylicia Rashad, Eddie Cibrian, Brian White, Jamie Kennedy, and Rebecca Romijn has been unveiled. The poster shows Perry who also serves as director and writer for the film in character as Wesley Deeds, a successful and engaged businessman who develops feelings for a single mom played by Newton. The movie will be released in theaters nationwide including Birmingham on February 24, 2012. It is a departure for Perry who was last seen in his trademark character Madea in Madea’s Big Happy Family which is out on DVD. The entertainment mogul is currently shooting another film he plans to release next year, The Marriage Counselor starring Jurnee Smollett, and Lance Gross. Smollett plays a couples counselor whose own personal life is in disarray. Fans will also see Perry step away from the Madea character again as he stars as the title character in the mystery-thriller I, Alex Cross which was filmed back in August. The character is based on the popular James Patterson novels. Morgan Freeman originally played the detective in the first two films, Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.
