Relationships with parents can be the source of the deepest love and greatest conflict in many people’s lives. Visit one Washington DC local artist’s loving tribute to her parents.
Washington DC artist, designer and blogger Carolyn Sewell opens her exhibit “Postcards To My Parents” on Thursday, September 30, 2010. She will be exhibiting this yearlong project during which every day from July 23, 2009 to July 23, 2010 she sent hand drawn postcards of 4.5 inches by 6 inches to her parents by mail with messages about her feelings for them and updates on her life, humorous quotes from friends, family and general media sources, and original drawings of gnomes and other creatures and objects. This exhibit conveys her funny observations about life in general and her regard for her parents and family connections.
All proceeds from this exhibit will go to benefit Family Matters of Greater Washington. To view all of these works by Carolyn Sewell, visit www.PostcardsToMyParents.com.
