After a quiet Mother’s Day the weather turns stormy for the start of the week. A strong disturbance will push toward the Great Lakes on Monday and finally sweep across Michigan on Tuesday. As the disturbance approaches the thunderstorm potential increases. The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk for severe weather across a small part of West Michigan for tonight and most of the region for Monday. Large hail and damaging wind would be the primary threats with the thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will likely linger into Tuesday as the cold front finally pushes by. Heavy rain showers are possible with these storms. More than two inches of rain is possible for the start of the week.
See the slideshow at the top of the page for more on the thunderstorms.
