While Bioware is currently working on the fourth installment of the Mass Effect series, some gamers are curious if there might be a next-gen remake of the original trilogy following Commander Shepard now that the next-gen consoles have been released. Answering one fan’s question regarding the topic on March 2, Bioware Montreal and Edmonton General Manager Aaryn Flynn confirmed that the developer has held discussions about the possibility released an HD Mass Effect remake of the original trilogy on Xbox One and PS4.
After being asked if there is any chance to see updated versions on the first three Mass Effect games on the next-generation platforms, Flynn did admit that Bioware has indeed considered doing so.

The possibility of a future Mass Effect HD Collection on PS4 and Xbox One might be unclear at this time, but fans of the popular sci-fi series will definitely get to return to the franchise soon as the developer is no working on the next Mass Effect title. It is unlikely that the up[coming entry will be called Mass Effect 4 since the Commander Shepard storyline was concluded at the end of Mass Effect 3 and Bioware has hinted that they want make it clear that the next game begins a new narrative.
