A domestic dispute on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, left three people shot and two dead. Described as the "Posen shooting," the Inquisitr reported that a man was stalking his ex-girlfriend, killed her new boyfriend, and then was shot dead by the police.
It appears as if 21-year-old Jenna Sammons had been attacked earlier in the day by her ex-boyfriend, identified as 28-year-old Sherman T. Threets, who had a couple of screwdrivers.
Sammons went to the hospital to treat her wounds and then returned home. When she got home, her ex-boyfriend was now waiting in the garage for her. Sammons' new boyfriend and cousin approached him and ended up being shot. A relative described the situation as such:
“My wife was on the phone with her [Sammons], and she heard a big boom in the house… Next thing you know she heard another shot and she [Sammons] said, ‘I’m shot, I’m shot’.”
One of those shot was pronounced dead on the scene.
Threets ended up running after shooting the two people in the garage as the police gave chase. He was soon found hiding in a garage down the street and ended up being shot dead by a Blue Island police officer.
The surviving victim has not had her identity released, but she is being treated at a local hospital. There has been no report as to why this incident occurred, but police are currently investigating the Posen shooting.
