A Posen shooting has left two men dead and a woman in the hospital on Friday morning. A love triangle turned deadly when a man shot his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, then he was later shot and killed by police, according to the Chicago Tribune on Oct. 5.
The shooting took place in the 14500 block of South Campbell Avenue about 9 a.m. on Friday when woman was returning home with her boyfriend. This is when the ex-boyfriend pulled a gun on the couple and first attacked his ex-girlfriend, shooting her in the abdomen, then fatally shooting her new boyfriend in the head.
The woman was able to jump in her car and get away, but she was stopped about a few blocks away and taken to a hospital. Posen Police were backed up by other area police departments when answering the call to this shooting. The ex-boyfriend was shot and killed by a Blue Island police officer, who found him hiding in a neighbor's garage, according to officials.
27-year-old Tristan Hart was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the woman’s new boyfriend returning back home with her when the shooting took place. The man police shot down, 28-year-old Sherman T. Threets, was transported to Ingalls Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There is no word on the woman's condition.
Threets was the ex-boyfriend who attacked this couple with a gun. The woman’s name is not released, but she was being treated at the hospital, her condition is unknown. Posen Police released a statement calling the incident a “domestic related homicide” and also a “police involved shooting.”
