Mayor Kenny Wright was chastised by Councilman Bill Moody's wife Monday. The Mayor demanded that Bill Moody resign, due to an altercation with a woman that he had a relationship with; the altercation took place outside his work place.
Ginny Moody says, “Although it's obvious your interests are not in the well being of me or my family, I will volunteer that Bill and I have been through extensive counseling and have decided with god's help that we can make it through this”. She has asked Wright “to stay out of their business.” If Bill Moody is a public servant it's everybody's business, especially if they are having altercations outside his work place.
Bill Moody apparently got into an argument on February 5, 2013, outside his office with Kristel Felton, who claims he is the father of her infant son. Felton worked for Moody at Jani-King, Moody is the vice president of sales. Both have filed assault charges and have requested protective orders against each other.
Wright says the issue needs to be addressed by the council. Moody discussed Felton with council members months ago. He lied and told council members that Felton was a disgruntled employee and that she should not be believed.
Wright says, “It is our prerogative to not get into his personal business, but this involves his duty as an elected official. How citizens are treated is of utmost interest to the mayor.”
Wright was trying to figure out whether or not Felton could attend the council meeting due to the protective orders that have been issued, to discuss the problem. He stated again that Moody should resign because of the issue. Wright says, “This is not a subject matter of our choosing, but we can not be a part of a cover up.”
Wright said he was leaving the resignation decision to Bill Moody. Ginny Moody said the matter is between her, her family and God. She says Wright had no right to say the baby is Bill Moody's and claims Wright is callous and insensitive. Wright says he is concerned that Moody is denying the paternity of his son.
