Portraits of love project at Fort Carson: October 22nd

The importance of family is never more valued when a family member is overseas serving to protect our country. With the holidays fast approaching and the emphasis of the season on family and kids, it can be difficult for military families. That is why PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA), has teamed up with Soldiers' Angels and the USO to bring Portraits of Love to Fort Carson this Saturday. The goal of Portraits of Love is to provide 10,000 deployed military service members free family portraits in time for the holidays.

This Saturday from 8 a.m to 6 p.m, at 1625 Ellis Street, Building 1218, military families can have their portraits taken by professional photographers who have donated their time for this event. Families will receive a free portrait sitting and a free portrait and they will have one sent to their beloved family member serving abroad. Fujifilm will be sending this additional photo through their website SeeHere and they will be providing coupons for additional prints. If you would like to sign up your family for this event on Saturday you can contact Phil Martinez at 719-306-1898 or pmartinez@uso.org.

If you would like to receive a free portrait but cannot make it to Saturday's event at Fort Carson, do not fret. This event will continue through December 31st, and you can find a photo studio near you at Portraits of Love's website. If you know a family who could benefit from this event, but who are not stationed in Colorado Springs, Portraits of Love will be hosting similar opportunities for families to have their portraits taken at other military bases around the country and at participating photo studios.
