The Humanists of Greater Portland is having their second class on "logical fallacies" this Sunday morning, 1-20-13. The event is free and open to the public (people of all beliefs are welcome). Attend as many or as few sessions as you'd like, and there's no homework! Click here to get all the details, and to rsvp:

Why is "critical thinking" such a vital resource for everyone to have? It could turn out that knowledge could save your very life. Consider, somewhat in jest, these "famous last words" due to a false understanding of reality:
"This is not as dangerous as it looks."
"He does it all the time; he knows what he's doing."
"We're not that close."
"I'm sober enough."
"We'll be perfectly safe under here."
"No, this is how you connect the wires."
"If it wasn't safe, they wouldn't let us do it."
This course is taught by Bernie Dehler, a Humanist Minister. Bernie is also active in local Christian/atheist debates, some of which can be viewed at this YouTube channel:
