Once again, it was time for Home and Living to go to Mondays on the Mall in downtown Portland. It really didn’t rain, just sprinkled a little. First we found Kellie on 5th and Taylor watching over the Wii truck and the Fliptography people. She introduced herself to us and I tried out the Fliptography. You stand in front of a camera and do anything you want for seven seconds and then they print the pictures and cut them and make the book right in front of you. Then, it’s like a little movie clip when you flip through the little book. It was free, and boy was it fun!

Then we walked down the street to the US Bancorp tower on 6th and Oak, where we found a show getting ready to be performed. It was a gang of kids that were in a group called Dance Fusion Northwest. We watched them for quite a while, as you can see from the slide-show and video. There’s a video below of the girls dancing and there’s another one here.

Then, the girls all cleared the performing area except one. Her name was Kendra Hatch and she sang like an angel, standing all by herself in front of everyone. A couple of more dances, and then Nikki Horner did the same thing. Both girls were very good, and very brave, and everyone clapped deservedly for them. The group of girls did a little ballet, jazz, burlesque, and one even did some robot moves.

What a nice thing to see while downtown! Kids dancing to songs like Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5. They were really good, and I’ve hope they’re going to be performing another time, too. These Mondays on the Mall are very entertaining and fun freebies given out through a partnership by Mall Management, Inc., Trimet and Pioneer Courthouse Square.

See me on the Transit Mall next Monday, Portland! Don't forget to look at the video and slide-show.
