Ellen has recently befallen ill with the flu just as her and wife Portia de Rossi were preparing to take a trip to Portia's native home down under. On March 20 Daily Mail reports that Portia is still concerned over Ellen's health, especially when she saw a pharmacy delivery car in their driveway when she returned home from errands.
Ellen had to cancel at least a week's worth of shows for her "Ellen Show" and they had to push the trip departure date back a week because Ellen has been so sick with the flu. Ellen has been keeping fans updated via Twitter, claiming that Portia is making her tea nonstop.
Recently, Ellen also tweeted that she has been cleared enough by her doctor to take the trip to Australia. Ellen claims that she is "healthy as a kookaburra." and that she is feeling much better. The flu has claimed several people this year, being one of the worst years ever, even those that got a flu shot.
This will be Ellen's first time in Australia. Ms. Degeneres says that Portia has a laundry list of places she wants to take Ellen and share with her from her childhood. Ellen is also planning on taping a few episodes while she is on the island that will focus on her Australian fans.
