Porsha prepares for motherhood while Cynthia gives birth to her first pageant

Is this the 1950s where women are supposed to be barefoot and pregnant? Kordell’s behavior would suggest just that. Porsha calls him a traditional man who wants his wife to stay home and prepare to raise children they don’t have yet. Apparently working part-time is too much for his wife to do and the idea of hiring a nanny is a no-no.

So to prove she can be a modern woman of at least the 1980s, Porsha decides to babysit her brother’s little daughter. Kordell insists that she doesn’t get any help from friends or family because that’s realistic, right? Other than asking her dog to watch the baby while changing into her babysitting-approved sweatpants the night went without a hitch…scrapes or emergency room visits.

Kandi works diligently on her gospel album by bringing in heavy hitter – the legendary Marvin Sapp. You can feel the hairs standing up on the back of your neck when he lays down his verse on her song “Prayed Up.” Anyone smell another hit for Kandi?

Cynthia brings in her own heavy hitter – Boris Kodjoe- to help co-host her first pageant. Right away she is having problems when Kodjoe comes dressed for a picnic instead of a pageant. Next, their scripts are out of order causing them to call the wrong names as the young ladies walk the runway. They leave out an entire Miss Teen category when they call an intermission too early in the show. Guest judge Ebony Steele, an Atlanta Radio Personality from The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, couldn’t do anything but shake her head at this debacle. Eventually the kinks were smoothed out and they crowned a winner.

“Mama needs a little vacation,” Cynthia ends the episode saying, which is the perfect segue way into next week’s episode when the ladies head to LA to visit NeNe on the set of her show The New Normal. Prepare for drama to unfold when the ladies upset NeNe by showing up to her dinner party three hours late. Can’t wait!

Quirky Quotes from tonight’s episode:

“Every time I eat mussels I think about vaginas.” - Chef Roble says while cooking dinner for Phaedra’s dinner guests Kandi and Todd.

“You just put your tongue in it. In the opening like, there.” Apollo explains how to eat the mussels.

“There will be a pop quiz later.” – Phaedra’s one-liner after Apollo’s comment.

"I don’t give a damn if she was Miss Boo Boo...a fool is a fool.” NeNe’s reaction to Cynthia letting Kenya be a judge at her pageant.
