If you are looking for one-of-a-kind invitations and other wedding stationary, Porridge Papers may be just the place to create them.
Porridge Papers, at 14th and South streets, specializes in handmade paper and letterpress printing.
Their papers feature 100 percent recycled fibers and at least 30 percent recycled post-consumer waste.
Customization
Handmade papers are completely customizable. You can even toss flower seeds into the mix, which makes the paper plantable.
The letterpress option gives your wedding invitations a unique, professional look that cannot be replicated by traditional printers.
Pricing
Because there are virtually endless possibilties when creating invitations, pricing varies per project. Design complexity, paper weight, paper type, layers, pieces, colors and quantity all factor into pricing. Elaborate invitations with high quantities could run you in the thousands of dollars. You may be able to create a simple letterpress invitation, however, for less than $500, depending on quantity.
Although they have graphic designers available, you may be able to save money by having a friend or relative complete the design work.
Studio Information
Feel free to check out samples and get a glimpse of ther paper-making operation by checking out their store at 1422 South St. They are open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Neat!
Can't we just email our friends and family the invite? Or send them a text message? It is 2010.
It's called an e-vite duh. Keep checking back to the site and I will address that.
Handmade papers look great in scrapbooks! Can't make an email invite look as nice. I love to scrapbook with my friends and would appreciate a unique invitation!
