SEMINOLE - On Sunday, September 15th, Screwie Louie's Historic Porpoise Pub will host the 1st Annual “Pit Boss & Hot Sauce Festival”. The day & night long festival will benefit local charities focused on helping battered women and children, and homeless teens in Central Florida.
The event will be emceed by Charlie Humphries of Full Throttle Magazine and feature numerous shows and activities including:
- Iron-Pit Cook-Off Competition,
- Evilicious & The Jailbait Girls Lingerie show
- “Meet & Greet” with world record holding daredevil legend Bob Gill
- Wet T-shirt contest
- Greasy Pig Chase competition
- Karaoke hosted by Lou Tube Twisted Talent
- bike and model photo ops provided by Jaw Droppin’ Customs
- Free BBQ samples from 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- free Southern home-crafted food tastings
- free shooters brought to you by Hot Mamma’s Fla & SinMaker Energy Drinks
- live musical performances by 7 bands
Musical acts that will be performing at the event include National recording act Swamp Da Wamp, Nashville recording artist Matt Wilde; and local acts such as Morgan Bernard, Blackwater Jack, The Howler Monkeys, FreeLow, and The Joel Tatangelo Band with special guest Steve Arvey.
The Iron-Pit Cook-Off competition will feature Championship & local BBQ Pit-masters who will compete in an all-out, all-night Iron-Pit BBQ Cook-off. Each pit-master will compete in 4 categories including: Pork Ribs, Beef Brisket, Pork Butt, and the Iron-Pit category which is a secret category we're the chef's will be provided with our specialty meat & spice which will not be revealed to the chefs until the kick off. Points will be added up for all categories by a panel of guest judges. Winners of each category will receive the following prizes:
- Overall Judges Favorite award - $500.00
- Beef award - $150.00
- Brisket award - $150.00
- Pork Ribs award - $150.00
- Pork Butts award - $150.00
- Iron Pit award - 150.00
- Peoples Choice award - Trophy
Gates will open for the “Pit Boss & Hot Sauce Festival” at Noon on Sunday, with band performances starting at 1:00pm. tickets for the event are $5.00 each and can be purchased at Screwie Louie’s Porpoise Pub. Discounted tickets for veterans can also be purchased for $3.00. a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit CASA Charities.

For those who would like a little preview of Sundays event, National Recording act Swamp Da Wamp will be appearing live on the “Hangin’ With The Hoff Show“ on Friday, September 13th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. “The Hoff” will be interviewing the band as well as playing some of their music. You can listen to the show by tuning into WPRN 102.1 fm in Tampa, or by watching the live video feed on radiobarandgrill.com or hanginwiththehoff.com.
On Saturday night, September 14th, Swamp Da Wamp will be performing a free show at the Historic Porpoise Pub at 9:00pm as well.
