According to the reports on Jan, 12, 2013, an adult film producer has sued Los Angeles County against their new voter-approved measure, which states that porn actors will have to wear condom while filming porn scenes.
According to the top pornographic film production company, Vivid Entertainment Group, this new law trespass their First Amendment rights and in turn will drive the porn film industry out of Southern California to other countries like Mexico.
They also stated that the order is not only unconstitutional but is also an added financial burden for the studios.
Los Angeles County is the heart of U.S. Adult film industry with a multi-billion dollar turnover. The complaint states that use of condoms will not be economically viable because it will increase post-production charges immensely if the studios try to digitally remove the condoms in the films.
Moreover, it will also affect the producers if they do not remove the condoms because of fierce competition from other countries who work without any such restrictions.
