Sheri Daye is a well-known and popular freediving and spearfishing celebrity in South Florida and across the country. Each year, Daye presents The Blue Wild, at two-day Expo in Ft. Lauderdale that celebrates everything "aquatic".
This week, Daye announced a new and exciting theme for the 2013 show. This year’s Expo speakers and workshops will be based on the theme “for divers to explore new challenges and adventures”.
Daye explains, “Like most ocean-loving people, I've been through several phases with my diving. I've enjoyed scuba diving charters and travel destinations, tech-diving on deep wrecks, freediving and spearfishing. I'm now interested in underwater photography and videography.”
She went on to explain, “We are producing a show for all levels and interests in both free and scuba diving and we want to give divers the opportunity to learn and explore their next area of interest and adventure.”
To capture the theme, The Blue Wild is presenting a wide variety of speakers and workshops, including a PADI Member Forum, beginner to expert freediving, technical diving, underwater photography and videography workshops, spearfishing, plus presentations on search and rescue, dive fitness, and more.
Featured speakers during the two-day event include an eclectic group of diving legends Dr. Eugenie Clark and Stan Waterman, freedive instructors Martin Stepanek and Kirk Krack, shark diver Manny Puig, and others.
Accordingly, the Expo will feature a wide variety of Exhibitors -- scuba manufacturers, dive and surf retailers, photo/video companies, speargun builders, etc. The Expo will also feature a world-class marine art collection and a very exciting charity raffle/auction.
“We have gathered the top names in the industry to introduce us to all of the wonderful things the ocean has to offer, ” said Sheri Daye, and she went on to add, “This promises to be the best Expo ever!”
The Expo will be held February 23rd & 24th at the Broward County Convention Center. Admission is $15 ($5 discount to PADI Dive Society members).
