With all of the buzz and excitement about the return of ‘All My Children’ comes some disappointment.
This disappointing news comes in the form of fan favorite Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin).
The very talented actor has entertained fans as ‘Tad the cad’ since the early 80’s. Fans have been holding onto the hope that Knight will return to the soap when it resurfaces on the Internet.
Knight told ‘Soap Opera Digest’ that due to ‘timing,’ he won’t be reprising the role that made him famous on the ABC soap. At least not yet.
‘… I consider it a blessing that the Martins are going to be represented. I mean, the news is that I think Jill is incredibly underrated as an actress. I think she's brilliant. I think the Martins are going to be well-represented with Cady and I hear Ray [MacDonnell, ex-Joe, who was an original cast member of ABC's AMC]…. I'm blessed, personally, that the Martins are going to be represented. With me, personally, it was simply an issue of timing, period," he states as to why he won't be present for the debut of the relaunch. "I consider [Executive Producer] Ginger Smith to be, actually, one of my oldest and dearest friends, in that industry and in life. And I had asked her for patience with me because as I like to put it, I didn't say no, I just said, 'I can't do it right now.' I love the fact that the interest is there and I firmly believe Tad is going to be walking through Pine Valley in short order at some point.’ Knight told Digest exclusively.

Production for both ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ begins later this month in Stamford, Connecticut.
