Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and you’re thinking it may be time to pop the question. You have found the perfect person, you’re ready to ask them to spend the rest of their lives with you. Where do you ask this epic question?
In Phoenix, there are a myriad number of amazing hotels and resorts with fabulous restaurants that are perfect settings for asking your honey to marry you. My favorite intimate spot by far Kai Restaurant located in the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa. Kai is a Forbes Five Star Award and AAA Five Diamond Award Signature Restaurant that serves Native American food that is procured locally. Reservations are strongly recommended (call Tuesday through Saturday 12 pm -5 pm 602-385-5726) and Kai maintains a smart business casual dress code (no hats, T-shirts, shorts) and please, leave your cell phone, laptop and tablet at home.
Looking for something a little more adventurous? Propose while taking a private hot air balloon ride. There are a number of companies located in different parts of the valley that offer private balloon rides, with sunrise and sunset flight times. Hot Air Expeditions even offers a gourmet food menu and champagne toast – yummy!
Are you a nature loving couple? Hike up to the top of Piestewa Peak using the Summit Trail and propose while looking out over the city. Trailheads are open from 5 am to 7pm with the trail open until 11 pm. Contact a local restaurant such as Cheuvront or Duck and Decanter and pick up an amazing picnic style meal and enjoy the sun set over Phoenix.
Are romance and music more your style? Make a reservation to dine at the Alto Ristorante E Bar and ride the gondolas at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch. The restaurant is only open for dinner (5:30 pm – 10:30pm). Call the concierge desk at 480-444-1234 to make a reservation.
Don’t forget to ask someone to capture the moment your special someone says “Yes!” There are a number of local photographers that would love to capture your before, during and amazing after pictures of your proposal. One of my favorite photographers in the valley, Amy Van Liew with Life’s Story Studios would love to be there to document the beginning of your happily ever after.
Are you proposing this Valentine’s Day? Let me know!
