PoPFilmKC and KCWIFT announce films and panelists for CineWomen

Get ready, Kansas City. CineWomen 2013 is right around the corner. On Tuesday, PoPFilmKC and KCWIFT officially announced the list of filmmakers and films that will be screening at this year's event. CineWomen takes place on Thursrday March 14 at the Screenland Crossroads in Kansas City, Missouri.

CineWomen: A Refreshing Showcase of Women in Film will feature short films from female filmmakers from area Kansas and Missouri colleges including the University of Kansas, University of Missouri-Kansas City and the Kansas City Arts Institute. Doors open at 6:00 and the films begin at 6:30.

Before the short film screenings, CineWomen will feature a panel of dialogue with local film professors, including Dr. Caitlin Horsmon (UMKC), Dr. Dotty Hamilton (Avila), and Dr. Tamara Falicov (KU). Dr. Tom Poe, of UMKC, will also present a special tribute to the late Dr. Carol Koehler.
