Popeye

Once you've shared your life with a black cat, it’s a habit that’s tough to break!  Black cats tend to be loving, wonderful animals, and that’s certainly the case for young Popeye.  He’s a handsome little sailor, a young male of medium build and all black except for few flecks of white on his chest.  Just as sweet as can be, Popeye doesn't mind being picked up and carried around and will curl up in your arms.

Though Popeye came in to Jersey City’s Liberty Humane Society shelter in January as a stray kitten, with little known about his history, he's not in the least bit shy or scared.  Says volunteer Jenny Furlong, “If you get anywhere near his crate, Popeye will reach out to you with his paws and try to get your attention.  In fact, he’s doing everything he can to get noticed by someone who might take him home!  He is eager to engage with people, and is very eager to play.”

Popeye is up-to-date on his shots and is FIV- and FeL-negative.  He still needs to be neutered.  As Popeye is not quite a year old, he can be adopted for 50% the normal adoption fee during the month of March as part of LHS's teenager adoption promotion.

This little sailor has been adrift for too much of his young life.  Won't you give Popeye the chance to bring his love and affection to your home?
