Pope worked as bouncer in Buenos Aires prior to joining the Catholic church

Pope Francis once worked as a nightclub bouncer. This news comes on Dec. 3 via National Public Radio after the head of the Catholic church explained to his followers this past weekend that he moonlighted in this job while studying in his native Argentina. This word was delivered at the Church of San Cirillo Alessandrino outside Rome.

Other jobs beyond guarding a nightspot from having to endure the riff raff that helped Pope Francis pay his way through college included being a chemical lab technician, a high school teacher, and a floor sweeper.

All of these duties preceded the duties now taken on by Pope Francis, a man who loves soccer and who enjoys the tango done Argentine style.

This particular pope is known for his frank manner, his hope for a world that is fiscally equal, and his home in a modest domicile within the Vatican. He is a far cry from former pope Pope Benedict XVI who was known around Rome as the Bishop of Bling.

And so, as the Argentine Pope explained to his Italian parishioners that he once worked as a bouncer and as a lab technician and as a teacher and as a sweeper of floors, the head of the Catholic church once again showed he is just one of the people who thrives here on this earth.
