Pop punk was once a thriving music genre with teens and young adults back in the early 2000s. Bands like Blink-182 and Sum 41 were all the rage, but it seemed that the genre fizzled out and died.
Four local Johnstown boys, however, are proving hard and fast that pop punk is still relevant and as high energy as ever. Comprised of Dylin Snedden on vocals and rhythm guitar, Canyon Gargon on lead guitar, Doltyn Snedden on bass and Ben Ressler on drums, A Faster Ride has made a huge name for themselves quickly in the Johnstown music scene.
Recently, the band put out an EP entitled "Sing It Out Loud" and have been performing all around Western Pennsylvania to promote it. A Faster Ride's live performances are bar none some of the strongest in the scene right now.
Right from the first note you are hit in the face with pure, unadulterated rock. A Faster Ride brings out all of the energy you'd expect from an old Blink show, yet they still have a fresh sound that doesn't seem nearly as dated as most entries into the genre.
A Faster Ride will be performing at Ace's Lounge in Johnstown on March 2, 2012. The show will begin at 6 p.m. Eastern Time and admission is only $6. Also, on the bill for the show is Altoona upstarts, The Big Time with more bands to be announced closer to the date.
