Pop-punk band Bellwether release new song and album track listing

Long Island pop-punk heroes Bellwether have revealed their new EP "...but I have to" will be self-released on Apr. 9.

The full track listing is as follows:

1. Compromise
2. Tolls
3. Minor Miracle
4. Simple Science
5. Roots

The news was announced via popular music blog PropertyofZack along with a new song titled 'Compromise.'

The track is a much more raw sound than any of their previous material. That's probably thanks to Vinnie Caruana & Brett “Ratt” Romnes (of I Am the Avalanche) coming in to produce the record. The influences of fellow bands of the same genre, namely Transit and Into It. Over It. can be heard almost immediately as soon as the guitar riff begins. The song is filled with minor breakdowns and gang-vocals making this a song fans of the pop-punk genre will completely stage-dive and fall over for.

A resurgence of pop-punk has taken over Long Island music scene in recent years and Bellwether has been at the forefront. The band is appropriately named considering the true definition of a bellwether is 'one that takes the lead or initiative / an indicator of trends.'

The band made waves in late 2010 with the release of their first single, "With All Due Disrespect" calling out bands from the adjacent pop scene - most of which went on to break-up shortly thereafter.

Bellwether will be playing a number of shows this spring including a slot on "Today's Mixtape Fest" on Apr. 6 with Man Overboard, The Story So Far and many more.
