Pop of color

Colorful jacket options

Living in the midwest during the winter season, colors seem to be washed away by the vast majority of white that covers the ground, buildings, and basically all vegetation. However, we don’t have to let our wardrobes get lost in the sea of white this winter season. Add a pop of color to your wardrobe and not only brighten your day, but look incredibly stylish!

Here are three ways to add a pop of color into your wardrobe tastefully:

1). Accessories: Whether it is a bright colored scarf or fun, bold jewelry, accessories are an easy and stylish way to add some color to your wardrobe. Just remember that when wearing jewelry you don’t want to overkill your look with too many pieces. Choose one piece to be your main statement. For example, choose large earrings, or a chunky necklace and then add in a few more pieces subtly from there. You can also try a fun headband or neon sunglasses for more trendy accessories. With accessories there are unlimited ways to add some color to your wardrobe!

2). Handbags: Although handbags can be considered an accessory, I believe they deserve a category all to themselves. When the temperatures are below zero it can be hard for others to see the beautiful accessories you've put together without you freezing to death. However, a handbag is there for all to see and doesn’t require you to take off any of your layers. Choose something oversized, colorful, and make a statement. You can try colored leather, bold prints, or even animal print (for example, python skin purses). Just remember that if you are going to choose a purse for your statement, don’t be shy and pick something that will make a statement all on its own!

3). Jackets: Many of us have pieces in our wardrobe that are beautiful and colorful, however we have a hard time showing them off in these cold temperatures. This year, try something new and allow your jacket to make your statement. It can be a little scary for some of us to buy a bold, colorful jacket. However, I don’t remember ever seeing a beautiful, bright jacket that didn’t make me look twice. Just remember to find something that is flattering to your figure, take a risk, and let it be your jacket that turns heads this winter! With white, white, white, and maybe a little grey being all we see during these winter months. Mix things up and add a pop of color to your wardrobe this winter season. Feel beautiful, look beautiful, and let your color POP!
