Though the snow may be gone from your driveway, there's still plenty of it on the local skill hills, which are offering a number of events this weekend to attract customers.

Afton Alps will host events all day. Not only is there the rite-of-spring pond skimming event, but there will also be a mogul event, several scavenger hunts, a tug-o-war, and and a winchfest. The day wraps up with a jibbing event.

Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area has a pond skim event, too, with prizes for best costume, best skim, and best fall.

Trollhaugen is having ski races all day, under the banner of the "Troll Cup Ski Race."

Welch Village has set its pond skimming event for March 22. Participants will be judged on costume, style, length of skim, and creativity.

Wild Mountain will have one of its Friends & Family Fun days, featuring "never ending lessons." Take a novice and introduce a family member or friend to skiing or riding.
