August is promising to be an exciting month for movie goers as some of the year’s most anticipated movies are set to hit the big screen. Pompeian is excited to be a part of it by pledging that each of us can be a little healthier as we enjoy our must-see summer flicks. To celebrate National Olive Oil Month, Pompeian is partnering with select movie theaters coast to coast to offer the country’s number one selling Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil at concession stands. This has never been done before and it clearly expresses the company's desire to be at the forefront of healthy choices desired and expected by people more and more. Now even at the movies we can seek out a healthier alternative to traditional movie theatre popcorn butter.

Pompeian is also launching the Pompeian Pledge (live August 1) to help consumers nationwide swap butter for olive oil in everyday recipes. The health benefits of olive oil are no secret, including no cholesterol and less saturated fat than butter. Most people are unaware of how simple it is to make the swap. To encourage more fans nationwide, during the month of August, 1,000 Facebook fans who take the pledge will be randomly selected throughout the month to win a Pompeian coupon for a free 24 oz. bottle of olive oil and a movie rental redemption code to enjoy a healthy movie night at home!

Select Carmike Cinemas locations* and The Colonial Theatre** will offer Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the first and only extra virgin olive oil to attain the USDA Quality Monitored Seal, as a popcorn topping during the month of August to encourage even the biggest butter fanatics to swap butter for olive oil in celebration of National Olive Oil Month.
