At your local craft store you will see little balls of fluff. They are called Pom-poms, and they are so cute but not many people have any idea what to make out of them. A.C. Moore, Michaels, and Wal-mart all sale these little pom-poms that seem so useless and come in many colors/sizes. Kids love to play with the pom-poms and so do cats most of the time. So we are going to make little Luv Bugs.
These are great for a valentine’s gift, or maybe you want to say you love someone. They are also great for tray monsters for the children’s hospital. They lift the spirits of sick kids and make them smile. We all know that a happy child normally gets better quicker. So here is an easy way to make these little smile inducers.
Needed:
• Pom-Poms (Any color/size)
• Pipe Cleaners (Any Color)
• Glue/Hot Glue (Recommended Hot Glue)
• Puff Paint (Any color)
• Google Eyes (Any shape/size)
• Foamies (Different Shapes and Sizes)
• Glitter Glue
Alright so you want to get a good base for your monster/luv bug. So choose a rather large foamie from the ones you have. On this you will glue the body which is a med/large Pom-Pom. Choose the eyes that you want to put on and make sure they look right to you. Next you will want to put on any arms/legs these will be glued on as well.
To finish off your little creature you will want to glue on your eyes and put on smiles and any extras you would like to add using puff paints and/or glitter glue. This is a great idea to teach patterns to kids as well. Have fun and enjoy!
