Poll shows Charlie Crist leads Rick Scott, 48% to 38%

An April 30, 2014 Quinnipiac University poll indicates Crist with 48% to 38% lead on Scott in Florida's governor race. The survey's results are of 25% Republicans, 31% Democrats, and 34% Independents polled.

Governor Scott's lack of compassion and trustworthiness appear to attribute to his lagging in the polls.

Rasmussen released a poll with narrower results of Crist 45%, Scott 39%.

Though these early polls do not indicate an indisputable election result, they measure sentiment at a particular time.

Governor Scott has reportedly spent $6.5 million during March and April of 2014 in political ads. There has been reports the campaign expense hasn't reaped desired results for the governor.

Governor Rick Scott, recently received a not so warm reception at a campaign stop at the Volen Center in Boca Raton, FL attempting to discredit Obamacare. Audience members politely advised the governor that in one case, ACA has covered their son with heart complications that he hadn't been eligible for coverage before. And in another case an audience member voiced if there are any alleged cuts to Medicare due to ACA/Obamacare as the governor had implied, it would be selfish to reap benefits for senior citizens only while others suffered. The senior crowd also voiced there has been no proof of reduction or cuts to their Medicare benefits.

For Scott to even mention Medicare is such a bold move, given the fact he admitted to 14 counts of Medicare fraud in 2002. The governor paid the fines and penalties of $600 million after stepping down from heading Columbia/HCA. In 2010, Scott rode in on the TEAParty wave and was elected governor of Florida.

Negative ads and finger pointing may have seen its best or worst days as voters require substance and sincerity going forward. Many of the TEAParty darlings have faded into obscurity in recent months; Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, and possibly Gov. Rick Scott.
