Adam Lambert was certainly in the spotlight this year. Does he deserve the #3 spot on MTV News's Men of the Year list?
Adam Lambert became a popular figure as soon as he was introduced as a competitor on American Idol, show where he became a runner up who, according to many, was robbed out of the first place.
Then came his Rolling Stone magazine cover, where Adam Lambert told the world that he is gay.
There was the charity contest that proved how loyal Adam Lambert fans are.
And there was, of course, Adam Lambert's controversial AMA performance.
For reasons like the ones just presented, and others, MTV News has honored Adam Lambert with slot #3 in its Men of the Year list.

Sarah, Usually people want to participate in a poll because they have an opinion. Maybe only a few outside the fan-base even see this as a poll worth responding to. It is obvious to me that Adam represents many thinking people who are aware how his presence might ultimately change our society. I don't routinely express my opinion on something that I don't really care about. If you are surprised to find yourself in the minority, I know what that feels like. But anything with "Adam Lambert" in the title is going to attract his supporters. Maybe we are just searching for things to support. How did you get here?
Adam deserves this award because he has phenomenal pipes!! Adam has also been bashed from every side and has handled it graciously, kindly and with balls of steel by not apologizing when he did nothing wrong. Adam is an amazing person as well as an amazing performer and deserves this honor completely! Sarah -I looked on his site and you are full of it!
It is true that Adam has had a huge impact on America. His fans are addicted and love him and his foes are obsessed with him (Peggy N for example). This has created a real conversation in America and people are having to consder their loyalty to freedom of artistic expression and their biases which they have been hidding for a long time. Adam is definately one of the top men of year!
Romina: That's the most simplistic synopsis of Adam's past year that I've ever seen! There's so much you didn't mention it would take another article. But just the highlights would be: Adam's phenominal reception at every venue of the 12 week, 52 city Idol Tour over the summer; singing the lead song of the 2012 movie soundtrack; his stellar debut album & video; honored by many year-end lists and Barbara Walter's most interesting person of the year show; being asked to sing the National Anthem at the ADL dinner honoring Stephen Spielberg, which he sang a capella. Each event I mentioned deserves being embellished with details, and the list goes on and on. OF COURSE Adam deserves to be on MTV's list, as well as on Rolling Stone's list, Time magazine's list, and all the other lists he's on! He's had an amazing year!

I am a proud Glambert, and take no offense to those that are envious of our fanbase. Adam is perfect in every way. Even though Adam is worthy of a #1 spot on this list, #3 ain't too shabby!!
You should know that when someone makes ridiculous,unfounded comments they're going to be....um,how did you put it....called out!! That's why you're receiving comments,not for your opinion. I agree with Amanda. You make the 'Glambert' sound cultish and self destructive. There are lot of organizations that deal with this type of behaviour....Westboro,for instance. You should really pick on thos type of groups. The Glamberts are about love and conviction for someone they believe in...the insanely talented Adam Lambert!
Adam should most defintely rank #1,IMO. Everything Tagrid listed would be reasons enough. but I have to add that he initiated the DonorChoose charities that drove the Glamberts,Lamb Skanks,Adam Bombs,ONTD and other various 'Adam' followers to donate their time and money for worthwhile causes. Oh,they look so bad and should be embarrassed,these'crazy'fans! (**sarcasm**)

It's unfair, apparently I must be a Kris fan just because I think that. Seriously? I voted for Adam till my fingers hurt during Idol. Don't dare tell me what I am just because you're biased and you don't agree. It was an opinion you obviously don't agree with, and you twisted my words around.

Surprise,surprise,all the Hate-tards are out in full force!! I voted several times and my votes don't seem to make a difference in the positve (#1). There is exceptional gain in the negative. I think this poll is most defintely flawed (just like the nasty haters)!!
Sarah the pole is set up where you can vote more than once, that is not spam, that is the way they set it up. Also you should be very careful about bringing Adam Official into your bull crap because Adam and his website have ZERO to do with this pole and just because a fan says go vote, doesn't make it spam or anything to do with the official website. Again I repeat the pole allows multiple votes - watch your accusations because they are just not appropriate.

Just wanted to put out my personal opinion that these online polls are very flawed and unfair when a fanbase is spamming their votes to not only these online polls, but creating multiple accounts for the Rock My Town concert so New York can win, that's not spamming and cheating though right?

For all of you who hate these polls and think they are bogus because you can vote more than once--that is how they are set up so there are mega hits on the website. AND by the way, that is how AI works. It isn't how many fans there are for one contestant--it is how fast the fans can get in the votes. Adam fans can sit here and say he was cheated out of AI for the same reason. It isn't a fan problem but the creation of the pollster. I LUV ADAM but I have no problem with MJ at #1 and I doubt Adam would argue with that. Adam is certainly the #1 living artist out there.

Ru kidding me, I love Adam and all but to deserve such an honor u have to be someone who have done something in the World of music, Adam hasn't even started singing yet, & weare awarding him #3 man of the year in music, & by whom MTV, so what are thosepeople going to do when he starts really singing, all what we saw is the AMA scandelous show which he admits that his singing was a mess, & that's it, does this make him deserve such an honor over living legends like Elton Johns, Stivie Wonder, Paul Macartney, Celine Dion, Mariah Carrey and Michael Jackson who just died! I have no words for this industry, who pimps people not on the merits of their efforts & talents, how can they live with theirselves!!

Common sense is all a person needs to know that Adam was the best on American Idol this year...but I watch as someone else always gets first....so I don't even worry about it, I know who is the best.....
If anyone wants to talk about fairness, maybe we could also mention the free texting votes that AT&T gave Kris' fans the night of the finale appearance. Yup..that was really fair.
Of course Adam deserves to be #3, I'm glad he is being recognized for his amazing talent.
