Listed below is the Polk County arrest report for Thursday January 2, 2014. The report includes a complete list of arrests, information regarding prior arrests, bonding information and available inmate photos. Unless specified otherwise, all information is obtained from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The following people were arrested and charged with the violations listed below. Click on the embedded links within each list to view the complete prior arrests report. Links to arrests prior to 2009 will not be included.

Steven Andrew Akins, 47, of Dallas was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, theft by taking and public drunkenness. Akins remains in custody at the time of this publication. Three property bonds totaling $6,100 have been set.

David Eugene Cook, 34, of Rome is currently housed at the Polk County jail for Floyd County on charges of two counts misdemeanor obstruction, one count felony obstruction, two counts terroristic threats and acts, public drunk, two counts battery, one count battery (FVA), cruelty to children, aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, interference with government property, parole violation and two counts probation violation.

Jeannie Marie Hopkins, 32, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Hopkins was released on 1/3 after posting a $1,100 property bond. See also (4/24/2012) (2/19/2010) (seven arrested for conspiracy to manufacture and traffic meth)

Aaron H Jacobo, 28, of Cedartown was arrested on a felony warrant for contempt of court regarding child support. Jacobo remains in custody at the time of this publication. An $800 purge payment must be paid for release. See also (10/16/2012) (2/18/2012) (10/4/2010) (1/14/2010)

Jeffery Carl Morton, 22, of Aragon was arrested and charged with DUI-marijuana, possession of marijuana, suspended registration and no insurance. Morton was released the same day after posting four property bonds totaling $7,750.

Hershel O’Neil Payne, 34, of Rockmart was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Payne remains in custody at the time of this publication.

Tim Eugene Pendley, 55, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Pendley remains in custody at the time of this publication. A $600 property bond has been set. See also (10/14/2013) (4/18/2011) (2/6/2011) (2/17/2010)

Jonathan Wesley Props, 21, of Piedmont, AL was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in Cedartown municipal court. Props was released the same day after paying a $350 cash fine.

Barry Wilson Weaver, 57, of Cedartown was arrested by Floyd County authorities and charged with one count felony theft by deception and one misdemeanor count theft by deception.

All parties are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty in a court of law. Not every arrest or charge leads to a conviction. A conviction or an acquittal will be determined by the court system.
