The Polk County Crime Examiner personally compiles arrest reports that cover the Polk County, Ga. area, including Cedartown, Rockmart and Aragon.

Listed below is the report for Saturday Dec. 29, 2012. The report includes a complete list of arrests, prior arrests, bonding information and inmate photos. Unless specified otherwise, all information is obtained from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The following people were arrested and charged with the violations listed below. Click on the links to view prior arrests and/or additional details.

Brandon Dante Brown of Atlanta was arrested by Polk County police and charged with speeding (in a 35 mph zone (56-99 over), driving too fast for conditions and failure to appear in Cedartown municipal court. Brown was released the same day after posting two cash bonds totaling $190.

Tabitha Gail Formby of Cedartown was arrested by Polk County deputies and charged with driving on a suspended license. Formby was released the same day after posting a $1,610 property bond. See also (2/6/2011)

Lance Colby Fowler of LaGrange was arrested by Cedartown police and charged with DUI-alcohol, failure to obey traffic control device, head light requirements, no insurance and suspended registration. Fowler was released the same day after bonding out through the Cedartown Police Department. See also (11/12/2012)

Amanda Fay Franco, 23, of Cedartown was arrested by Cedartown police and charged with leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run), failure to notify owner upon striking an unattended vehicle, driving while unlicensed and operation of an unregistered vehicle. Franco was released the same day after bonding out through the Cedartown Police Department.

Danny Wayne Meeks of Rockmart was arrested by Polk County deputies on a warrant for failure to appear in probate court. Meeks remains in custody at the time of this publication. See also (9/10/2012)

Virgilio Mendez, 29, of Cedartown was arrested by Cedartown police and charged with driving while unlicensed. Mendez was released the same day after bonding out through the Cedartown Police Department.

Sarah Potter of Aragon was arrested by Aragon police and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction. Potter was released the same day after bonding out through the Aragon Police Department.

Anthony Scottie Presley of Rockmart was arrested by Aragon police and charged with DUI-drugs, failure to maintain lane and driving too fast for conditions. Presley was released the same day after bonding out through the Aragon Police Department. See also (3/25/2010) (9/2/2009) (McCowan Road Bust)

Jody Strickland of Cedartown was arrested by Cedartown police and charged with theft by shoplifting (second offense), misdemeanor possession of marijuana, public drunk, theft by shoplifting (third offense) and three warrants for failure to appear (magistrate/magistrate-Intertech/probate). Strickland remains in custody at the time of this publication.

Tedra Sumlin of Rome was arrested by Polk County deputies on a warrant for deposit account fraud. Sumlin was released the same day after paying a $355 cash bond.

Daniel Ray Winkles of Cedartown was arrested by Cedartown police and charged with disorderly conduct. Winkles was released on 12/30 after bonding out through the Cedartown Police Department. See also (5/3/2011) (12/24/2010) (11/15/2009)
