Listed below is the Polk County arrest report for Tuesday August 5, 2014. The report includes a complete list of arrests, information regarding prior arrests, bonding information and available inmate photos. Unless specified otherwise, all information is obtained from the Sheriff's Office located in the county of the arrest.
The arrest reports within this list do not reflect the actual guilt or innocence of the individual or individuals listed. All parties are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty in a court of law. Not every arrest or charge leads to a conviction. James Allen Duke, 47, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting, possession of Xanax, obstruction, possession of tools used for the commission of crime and drugs not in original container. Duke remains in custody with no bond set at the time of this publication. See also (11/19/2011)
Lakeshea Vena Ellison, 37, of Cedartown was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting. Ellison was released the same day after posting a $1,000 property bond.
Mitchell Ryan McChargue, 29, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with theft of services and first degree forgery. McChargue remains in custody at the time of this publication. Property bonds totaling $8,100 have been set. See also (4/19/2014)
Shay Alexander Merritt, 24, of Glenn Fork, WV is housed at the Polk County jail for sentencing. See also (Jury finds Merritt guilty of murder)
Shea Clark Spinks, 30, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with first degree forgery and theft of services. Spinks was released the same day after posting property bonds totaling $6,100. See also (3/4/2014)
John Clark Thompson, 61, of Cedartown was arrested and charged with simple battery under the Family Violence Act (FVA). Thompson remains in custody at the time of this publication. A $2,600 property bond has been set. See also (5/26/2014)
