The Polk County Drug Task Force (PCDTF) arrested a Douglasville man Tuesday during an undercover drug transaction,
According to a press release issued by Sgt. Wayne Lloyd, Ryan Adam Gambeda, 30, of Douglasville contacted an undercover officer with the Polk County Drug Task Force using a cellphone and arranged a meeting to purchase a quantity of schedule II narcotic Oxycodone tablets.
Gambeda met with the undercover agent at an undisclosed location in Rockmart. During the meeting, Gambeda supplied the officer with an unspecified amount of cash to purchase the pills.
Once the money was given to the agent, the arrest team moved in and arrested Gambeda.
Gambeda was charged with criminal attempt to purchase Oxycodone, use of a telecommunication device to facilitate a drug transaction and giving false information to law enforcement officials.
During the interview, Gambeda provided a false social security number in an attempt to conceal his identity.
The investigation revealed that Gambeda was wanted out of Ohio on several felony warrants including the theft of a large quantity of cash and products from Verizon wireless, his former employee in Ohio.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.
