The issue of legalizing gay marraige is a recent hot topic in the supreme court and with people all over America. However, the debate over the civil right has been around for quite some time. More and more people are showing their support for the LGBT community, which is also growing.

Bashing gays happens less often than in the past, but there are still cases of it. Just like there are still cases of racism and discrimination. The issue is treating others as equal, or simply being tolerant of other people regardless of skin color and sexual preference.

The current debate involves problems that women and minorities do not always feel that they are treated equal. This debate can infiltrate romantinc relationships of any kind, especially relationships where the male makes more money. Women are starting to take on jobs only men were considered for, but still do not have as many government seats needed to break even.

Many supporters of gay marraige believe that this is not at the top of the list for what needs to be taken care of in America, but that it should've been recognized back in the 60s. Why wasn't it? Because of religion and ideals that were instilled in peoples minds that to be gay is unnatural. Science has since proved that many species in nature have same sex relationships.

To be gay is natural, but some people are always going to turn their noses up at the thought. But it seems the supreme court is trying to ignore those people and stand up for the ever-growing community of non-straight people.
